Comprehensive Eye Examinations
A periodic comprehensive eye exam is an important part of preventive health care. It is a general evaluation of the complete visual system. Key elements of the exam include a general review of your medical history, examination of the external eye, visual acuity, pupils, gross visual fields, eye movement, eye pressure and dilated retinal exam. In addition prescriptions for eyeglasses or contact lenses may be determined and/or the need for surgery. The doctor may also suggest additional testing to further examine your eyes by using specialized diagnostic equipment.
